About Us
NatureNet Energy
NatureNet Energy, LLC offers consulting services to support successful development and financing of renewable energy and transmission infrastructure projects. Our mission is to help landowners and communities in rural America plan and build wind and solar energy facilities, as well as the modern transmission and fiber optic infrastructure these enterprises need. NatureNet’s work on several major generation and transmission projects near the Four Corners NYMEX electricity trading hub will contribute to enabling thousands of megawatts of renewable energy to reach consumers in Western states.
About Founder Lynn Chapman Greene
NatureNet founder Lynn Chapman Greene has been active as a Denver-based attorney and principal owner and developer of renewable energy and infrastructure projects for over 40 years.
In 2009, Lynn founded the transmission-only utility, Lucky Corridor, LLC, which is regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). She created and filed with DOE an extensive plan requesting support under the Recovery Act for converting the Four Corners electricity market hub into a clean energy hub. This involves building new, modern transmission lines to export electricity made from renewable energy found in rural America. New transmission will connect with existing, potentially bi-directional, export lines previously used to export coal-generated electricity from Four Corners, thereby re-supplying Four Corners with clean energy. The company assembled real estate easements to help host the new transmission, won FERC authority for the projects, began State and federal permitting for about 280 miles of new transmission, which could cost up to $500 million to build. Recently, Lucky Corridor was sold to a Fortune 500 company which is working to complete the projects.
Lynn’s ongoing mission is to help landowners discern whether their land is suitable for wind or solar energy development and then support them in their efforts. We believe these projects will facilitate regional economic development by enhancing the tax base to help fund schools, hospitals, and key community services.
